Baylor University golfer Cody Paladino (Kensington, Conn.) fell 4 and 3 to Oklahoma State's Rickie Fowler in the Round of 32 at the 83rd U.S. Amateur Public Links Championship Thursday at the Murphy Creek Golf Course. The second-seeded Fowler was one up after Paladino bogeyed the par-4 1st hole. Three holes later, Paladino squared the match when he pared and Fowler bogeyed the par-4 4th. However, Fowler rebounded on the ensuing par-3 5th to go up by one. Paladino would stay within striking distance until the 13th when he cut Fowler's lead to two holes.
